John “Jack” Spellman is an attorney specializing in commercial and business litigation, municipal law, and zoning and land use approvals. He earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was elected by his peers to serve as the Chicago Bar Association representative in the Student Bar Association.
Jack began his career at Schain Banks during his first year of law school, honing his legal research and writing skills as a law clerk. Before joining the firm, he earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While there, he interned with the Champaign County Circuit Clerk’s Office and helped organize a community-focused “expungement summit.”
Outside of work, Jack enjoys playing rugby with the Chicago Lawyers Rugby Football Club, attending theatre and comedy performances throughout Chicago, and taking walks through the woods with his dog.
