Emily Ottesen is a trial attorney whose civil litigation practice concentrates on the defense of municipalities, school districts, park districts, police and fire departments, restaurants, and subrogation claims.
Emily worked as a law clerk for Schain Banks throughout law school. She has experience in all stages of litigation from complaint through appeal. Emily has conducted discovery, drafted several discovery and dispositive motions, and assisted in taking multiple depositions. Emily has jury trial experience and has helped prepare trial materials, including motions and exhibits.
Emily earned her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School with concentrations in both Civil Litigation and Health Law. In law school, she was a teaching fellow for the undergraduate law course and worked in the Community Legal Partnership for Health clinic.
Through her experience with the clinic Emily was able to further develop her case management and administration skills as well as client advocacy and legal problem-solving.
